#3 Your Outfit Sweet Spot
If you've been skimming these emails, now's the time to tune in because this email is going to help you bring everything together and start dressing with confidence!
You have a style icon. You have an aesthetic. Now it's time to actually create an outfit that matches your vibe, makes you feel fabulous, and wear it all day without wanting to change.
I call this, "Your Outfit Sweet Spot." This is going to be more helpful than any specific rules or formula I could teach you because it will be unique to YOU.
Let's get started!
You should already have an idea of the kinds of clothes you want to wear based on your style icon and aesthetic. (Did you choose a name? If not, do that now!)
Now we need to consider the weather, your body, and your daily activities. Because let's be honest, it doesn't make sense for you to wear a flashy pantsuit if you're going to weed in the garden all day and you have a tendency to sweat a lot.
Create Your Outfit
I want you to create ONE outfit by that meets this criteria. Start by pulling out any clothes that match:
- The weather (if you're going to be inside all day, that's the weather you should consider).
- Your specific body type/needs/preferences (I personally cannot stand tight things in my armpits, so anything that tugs on my armpits is OUT)
- Your aesthetic/vibe.
- Don't forget shoes and accessories!
Once you've got things pulled out/set aside, I want you to try things on. Put things together you normally wouldn't wear at the same time. See what feels right! Make sure whatever you have is something you can wear all day.
The goal is not just to create a fun outfit, but to help you establish your own "rules" for getting dressed.
Create Your Go-To Elements
Once you've got the outfit put together, write down the elements. Don't overthink it.
When I did this, I wrote down: colorful graphic tee, neutral wide leg pants, platform sandals, headband that matches with the t-shirt, tan bag that matches with the sandals.
You don't need to follow this formula every single day, but having it documented will help you to see the patterns to follow for outfits that work for YOU.
Try it!
Until next time,
Rebecca
